This was a bit of short week as I just finished 5 days on shift at work. One of my favorite convenience-enhancing items of the last few months has been magnetic charging cables and I give a quick rundown in this video.
I was planning to also do a trail review for the First Mesa Trail here in Gallup but upon arriving I found it was closed for construction and there wasn’t time to find another trail to explore.
Hiker got sick this week (I think likely from eating something bad while we were out walking) and I came home to a bit of a mess in the Airstream one morning - so the rest of that morning was spent scrubbing the floors and airing things out. It lasted about two days but he’s now back to his usual self.
The Aquatic Center here in Gallup opened this week and one of my major goals was to return to swimming to I had my first lap swim session in almost three years - most things (like riding a bike) returned easily but getting used to breathing again with the pressure of water against your chest will take time.
I’m also preparing for one of my other major goals this week and that’s a visit home to Greenville South Carolina to see the family - the last time I was back was in October of 2019 and I have several nieces and nephews I’ve only barely met and several I haven’t met at all.
